"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things" (I Corinthians 13:11).

A New Life

Accepting Christ is the beginning of a new life. It is time to yield to the Holy Spirit and let him take control of your life and start growing as a Christian. A person that has never accepted salvation is like a child, it is impossible to understand the ways of Christ our Lord, but as a born again Christian the Holy Spirit will reveal the ways and things of Christ if one truly seeks to find them.

Listed below are some ways the Bible tells each individual Christian to grow in knowledge and faith for our Lord and savior. The links to the bottom left give more detail on each one of these:

Bible Study - Read it slowly, frequently, prayerfully. It’s Scriptures offer comfort in sorrow, guidance in perplexity, counsel for our problems, rebuke for our sins, and inspiration for our daily life.

Prayer - Nothing in a Christian's life is more vital than prayer. Psalms 55:17 says "Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice." God talks to you when you read your Bible; you talk to God when you pray.

Stewardship - Every believer is given spiritual gifts. These gifts belong to God and are given for the believer to use for the glory of God. "Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:" (Proverbs 3:9).

Participation in a Local Church - After accepting Christ as your savior the Bible tells us to associate ourselves with a local New Testament church (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Sharing Your Faith - You will serve God by sharing His Word with others. "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise (Proverbs 11:30).
